Carpet & Rugs e business
Buying rugs require very deep consultancy and flow of communication from both parties in this case buyer and seller.
With regards to a buyer: He or she needs to know whether likes traditional or decorative rugs, handmade or machine made, what sorts of budget and whether prefer new or antique old rugs. Some prefer very good new condition rugs, other can compromise on condition but prefer colours and designs and little wear does not bother them.
Sellers should have below understanding.
Need to be upfront and honest with their clients. Manage their expectations and ensure what they suggesting has all the right attributes which customer require. I know we all try to make the sell but with the long experience in this field believing me the hassle of recommending a wrong rug by not paying attention to the details can equally be as costly as selling it.
A rug can be very deceptive as it might be very beautiful form online or images but not necessary the right one once it gets to the client’s doorstep so it must be a degree of expectancy.
Ultimately you can not expect an incredible rug when you spent few hundred $ but equally few hundred $ rug could enhance your home in which much more expensive rug might not be able to.
I personally like to go through a lengthy discussions with my clients, knowing what they really want and how much they can afford. Then the process of ensuring the right rug selected and even if it was not the correct one being flexible to accept its return and then having follow up process.
Afterall the whole idea is to find a right rug, something that for many years bring joy to the owner. The reward for the seller apart of making a sell is to be remembered as a decent trader, hence being recommended to other potential customers.
